Green From the Top Down: Transforming Singapore’s Parkroyal

Luscious green glora and fauna cascade from the sides of the Parkroyal Hotel in Singapore. This gem has “zero-energy skygardens,” which utilize a gravity-driven irrigation system that harvests rainwater and uses solar energy. This hotel has driven the way for sustainability, being awarded “World’s Leading Green City Hotel” and “Asia’s Leading Green City Hotel” at the World Travel Awards, among other honors through the years.

There are over 15,000 square meters of greenery already here and, although it already has received so many accolades since its opening in 2013, they are currently undergoing renovations, which hope to make it even better. They have already unveiled a 13-metre high green landscaped wall. Bird cage shaped sculptural pavillions will be added, in addition to unique mood lighting to resemble a magical rainforest. The outdoor pool was transformed, as well as some of the meeting spaces and dining areas. The 575 rooms will even undergo renovations.
